Shannon has over 20 years of exerience working for and with the federal government in roles that have included support, public affairs and marketing.

Drawing inspiration from her father's esteemed legacy, she embarked on her professional journey as a Border Patrol Agent within the ranks of US Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Demonstrating her commitment to public service, she dedicated her final years with CBP to a multifaceted role, simultaneously serving as both an agent and a Public Affairs Specialist stationed at the Tucson Sector Headquarters. In her capacity as a Public Affairs Specialist, she assumed the critical responsibility of crafting and disseminating press releases, ensuring accurate and timely communication with the media and conducted interviews for television and news outlets, representing the Tucson Sector's perspectives and policies. She also orchestrated comprehensive station visits and border tours for influential government officials, high profile news crews, congressional members, and visiting sector chiefs.

In addition to her day-to-day responsibilities, she played an instrumental role in the meticulous planning and seamless execution of a Presidential Visit, contributing to the successful implementation of this high-profile event.

After her tenure with the Border Patrol, she made the conscious decision to step away temporarily, prioritizing her role as a homemaker for her growing children. However, she continued to demonstrate her unwavering support for the Border Patrol by later assuming the position of National Executive Director at the Border Patrol Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing assistance to the families of fallen Border Patrol Agents.

In this capacity, she exemplified her exceptional leadership acumen by successfully amplifying the Foundation's financial resources. Through her strategic vision, she orchestrated numerous high-profile fundraisers tailored for corporate and executive participation, effectively bolstering the Foundation's revenue streams. Furthermore, she adeptly managed the Foundation's day-to-day operations, ensuring seamless functionality and operational efficiency.

Her dedication to the Border Patrol and its affiliated families remains steadfast. In additon to the work she does for Capital Defense, Shannon currently serves as a Marketing Manager for a government consulting company while running her own marketing business. She has been happily married to a Border Patrol Agent for almost 20 years and has two children.  In her free time she focuses on time with family and friends, staying active outdoors, and donating time to her favorite causes.
